Open Up Your Heart and Let the Son Shine In

Open Up  Your Heart  and  Let the Son  Shine In

When we forget  some important truths,  we can really get  “down-in-the-dumps”  very quickly.     The vital truths most often forgotten  when we’re having  all sorts  of trials  and temptations  is that God  is still God.     He always has been God Almighty — and He always will be  God Almighty.     He always has been  the Creator,  Sustainer,  Redeemer,  and Judge  over all — and He always will be.     There never has been  any other real god — and the LORD God  loves us  so dearly  that He sent  His only-begotten Son  to suffer  and die  to pay  for our sins.

No matter  what troubles us  the most — no matter who  or what  is trying  to destroy  our faith  in the one and only God Almighty,  we need  to remember  2 Timothy 2:19,

Nevertheless,  the firm foundation  of God stands,  having this seal,  “The Lord knows those  who are His,”  and  “Let every one  who names  the name  of the Lord  abstain  from wickedness.”

We may feel  like everything  is falling apart  and that there is  no blessing  for us,  but no matter what  we think  or feel,  “the firm foundation  of God stands”.      Nothing will ever  be able  to move God Almighty  from His authority  over all  or from keeping  His promises  of salvation  to all who trust  in Him.     God knows us  as His dear children  and He will lead  His faithful ones  to salvation.     That will never change.

Knowing  we have this  “firm foundation”,  our faith needs  to react  like the faith  of a child — in the simple truths  of love,  trust,  and assurance.     Instead of  glumly remaining  “down-in-the-dumps”,  we should remember the truths  of God’s  “firm foundation”  in the children’s song,  “Open Up  Your Heart  and  Let the Son  Shine  In“.     God wants us  to remember Him  in all our troubles.     The lyrics below  are worth considering.     You can also go to YouTube to listen to it.

Mommy told me something
A little kid  should know.
It’s all  about the devil
And I’ve learned  to hate him so!
She said  he causes trouble
When you let him  in the room,
He will never  ever leave you
If your heart  is filled  with gloom.

So  let the Son  shine in,
Face it  with a grin.
Smilers  never lose,
And frowners never win.
So  let the Son shine in,
Face it with a grin.
Open up your heart  and
Let the Son shine in!

When you are unhappy,
The devil  wears a grin.
But oh,  he starts  to running,
When The Light  comes pouring in.
I know  he’ll be unhappy
‘Cause I’ll never  wear a frown;
Maybe  if we keep  on smiling,
He’ll get tired  of hanging ’round.

If I forget  to say my prayers,
The devil jumps  with glee.
But he feels  so awful,  awful,
When he sees me  on my knees.
So  if you’re full  of trouble
And you never seem  to win,
Just open up your heart  and
Let the Son  shine in!

So  let the Son  shine in,
Face it  with a grin.
Smilers never lose,
And frowners  never win.
So  let the Son shine in,
Face it  with a grin.
Open up your heart  and
Let the Son shine in!

With relief,  we can smile  and rejoice  knowing  for sure  Jesus is our victory  through eternity,  and we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  it is so good  to know  that You alone  are our eternal victory.”

Love,
Margaret
