This Is the Gate of the LORD

Crucifixion of Christ

This  Is the Gate  of the LORD

There are places  that have one  —  and only one  —  way  to get in.     There simply are  no other ways  to enter.     That’s how it is  for entering heaven.     Faith  in Christ Jesus  is the only way  anyone  will ever  be able  to enter heaven.     That means  that we must  believe  that Jesus’ suffering  and death  on the cross  is the only thing  that can ever  cleanse anyone  of all their sins.     So,  if we want  to enter heaven,  we must believe  and accept Jesus’ suffering  and death  as having paid  for all  of our sins.

We must also accept  Jesus’ resurrection  from the dead  as the absolute proof  of Jesus’ authenticity  of being  the one and only Savior  for all mankind.

When we accept Jesus  as our Savior  —  and actually realize  all the implications  of having all our sins  truly  fully paid for  —  once and for all  —  we will realize  the immensity  of this gift  of grace  from the LORD.

We will  also realize  how extremely undeserving  we are  of such a gift.     It just boggles the mind  how God Almighty  could possibly love  the likes  of us  —  to the point  of having  His only begotten Son,  Christ Jesus,  suffer and die  as a payment  for our sins.     We are left  with nothing  but the need  to give heartfelt thanks  and praise.

Psalm 118  foretells  the suffering,  death,  and resurrection  of Jesus  —  along with  the rejoicing  of all those  who put their faith  in Jesus’ blood  and merit,  as the gate  of heaven  is opened  to them.     Psalm 118:19-24  relates,

Open  to me  the gates  of righteousness;
I shall enter  through them,  I shall give thanks  to the LORD.
This is the gate  of the LORD;
The righteous  will enter through it.
I shall give thanks  to Thee,  for Thou hast  answered me;
And Thou hast become  my salvation.

The stone  which the builders  rejected
Has become  the chief corner stone.
This is the LORD’s doing;
It is marvelous  in our eyes.
This is the day  which the LORD  has made;
Let us rejoice  and be glad  in it.

Here  we see  that only God  can open the gate  of faith  for us.     In the righteousness  of faith  people  will enter.     This is  the one and only  “gate  of the LORD”.     If false preachers  want to claim  there are other ways  to heaven,  they are lying.     Only  “the gate  of the LORD”  will give entrance.     The false preachers  have  “rejected”  Jesus  as the only Savior,  but nevertheless,  only Jesus  “has become the chief corner stone”  of  “the LORD’s doing”.

Don’t  let us try  to sneak  into heaven  any other way.     It won’t work.

So, when we think  of God’s plan  to have Jesus die  for our sins,  and we consider Jesus’ excruciating death,  we come  to realize,  This is the day  which the LORD  has made;  let us rejoice  and be glad  in it.”      Rejoice   in Jesus’  faithful love.

We are safe  and sound  because  of the LORD’s work.     That means we are beloved.     So,  we rejoice,  and say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord,  thank You  for opening heaven  for us.”

Love,
Margaret
