For  All Things  Are  for Your Sakes

There is something very comforting in 2 Corinthians 4:15,  when it says.

For all things  are  for  your  sakes…..

It’s saying  “all things”  are  being done  for me.     I’m troubled  and perplexed  about so many things happening.     What is it  that is being done  for my sake?     How is anything helping me?     We need  to see the whole context  of what Paul was saying  in 2 Corinthians 4:12-15.     Paul had been describing his many terrible afflictions,  and then said,

So  death works  in us,  but  life  in you.

But  having the same spirit  of faith,  according  to what is written,  “I BELIEVED,  THEREFORE  I  SPOKE,”  we also believe,  therefore also we speak;  knowing  that  He who raised  the Lord Jesus  will raise us also  with Jesus  and will present us  with you.     For all things  are  for your sakes,  that the grace  which is spreading  to more and more people  may cause  the giving  of thanks  to abound  to the glory  of God.

This is something  to think about.     Only God knows  how many years beforehand,  a psalmist  in Psalm 116:10   wrote  about his suffering,  sorrow,  and faith  —  and declared  in the midst  of it all,  I believed,  therefore  I spoke.”     His troubles  and tears  were all faithfully put  in the hands  of the everlasting LORD  of all  —  and he knew  for sure  that he could trust  in God  before  any sort  of help arrived.

Years later,  as Paul believed  and trusted  in the LORD,  our Savior,  he added,  “we also believe,  therefore  also  we speak”.     Down through the ages,  God’s children believe  and speak  the truths  of God’s saving love  in the midst  of their trials  and tribulations.     Why?

For  all things  are  for your sakes…

The LORD God Almighty  has had  all these many witnesses  down through  the ages  —  since the beginning  of time  —  declare  their faith,  which has proven itself  to be trustworthy  and true.     They were not “believing”  in some mythological “god”  of sorts.     They were  “believing”  in the one and only true  God of gods.     So,  in the end,  their faith  was proven  to be  a worthwhile faith  —  NOT some fanciful,  mythological fantasy.

The end result is  that all these faithful children  of the LORD God  have witnessed  their faith  “for your sakes”.     Everything  written  in God’s word  has been  a witness  to us,  so that we might grow  in the true faith  —  “For all things  are  for your sakes…”

God Almighty  did not have  all this stuff recorded  in the Bible,  down through the ages,  for nothing.      “All”  of God’s word  was written   “for your sakes”.     All these experiences happened  down through the ages  “for your sakes”.

Can God make it clearer  for any  of us?     “For  all things  are for your sakes.”     Let us  thank God Almighty  for that.

We can know  God’s love  for us,  just because all things  are for your sakes.”     That love  is precious.     Let us appreciate it.

Living in the Sonshine  of God’s love,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for Your eternal word.”

Love,
Margaret
