He Is Your Praise

He Is  Your Praise

When Moses  gave the people  of Israel  the Ten Commandments  that he had received  from the LORD,  he reminded them  of how important it was  to always have reverence  for the LORD,  and to serve God  with all their heart  and soul.     And,  why  should we  do all that?     In Deuteronomy 10:17,  Moses said  we should love God  because,

The LORD  your God  is the God  of gods and the Lord of lords,  the great,  the mighty,  and the awesome God  who does not show partiality,  nor take a bribe.

God Almighty  is to be reverenced,  praised,  and worshiped  just because He is  the one-and-only  true God.     There simply is  no other  real god.     We need  to always remember  what Moses said  about God  in Deuteronomy 10:21,

He is your praise  and He is your God,  who has done these great  and awesome things  for you  which your eyes  have seen.

The people  of Israel  had experienced  an awesome deliverance  from slavery  in Egypt.     And,  they had experienced  God’s care  and provision  in the desert.     They were such a large group  of people  who had all experienced  the same miracles together.     They were witnesses  of God’s love  as a group,  so they had  a lot  in common  with each other.     That’s marvelous.

When we consider  all that God has done  in creation,  sustaining the world,  and giving us  a Savior,  we need to realize that  “the LORD  your God  is the God  of gods  and the Lord  of lords.”     No matter where we are  in this world,  as a group  of God’s children,  we can see  the wonders  of God’s creation and His almighty power  to save.      Anything else  that people might choose  to honor  and serve  in this world  is worthless  when compared  to what our Creator,  Sustainer,  Savior,  and King has done for us.

That  and much more  is why  “He is your praise”.     There is no other  that deserves  the praise  and honor  that rightfully belongs  to the LORD.     Nothing else  has the power  to create  the way God  has created.     So,  “He is your praise”.     No other god,  person,  or being of any sort  has the power  to fulfill  all of his prophecies  the way God fulfills  all of His word.     So,  “He is your praise”.     No other god,  person,  or being  has any power  to wipe away  all our sins  and grant us eternal life.     So,  “He is your praise”.

Of course this list could continue  with all sorts  of God’s other  almighty attributes.     There simply is  no other LORD  or God.     The LORD  is the only one  who honestly deserves  our praise,  so in all decency  and rightness,  we should always  give Him  our heartfelt praises.

In the truthfulness  and happiness  of praising our LORD  and Savior,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  thank You for Your loving and  faithful almighty care.”

Love,
Margaret
