All Things  Are Your Servants

There are times  when everything  seems to be  going awry  —  everything is wrong  — nothing is right  and good.     We wonder why  God is allowing  all this bad stuff  to keep on happening.     We might even wonder  if God is weak  and unable  to straighten things out  in our lives.

We wonder  because we are the ones  without God’s knowledge,  wisdom,  love,  and power.     Just because we don’t understand  God’s purpose  and ways  —  and because we are so helpless  —  we are afraid  and worried.     This is when  we need  to remember  the truths  in Psalm 119:89-91,

Forever,  O LORD,
Your word  is settled  in heaven.
Your faithfulness  continues throughout all generations;
You established  the earth,  and it stands.
They stand  this day  according to Your ordinances,
For all things  are Your servants.

God created  all that there is  by His word,  as Genesis,  chapter 1 repeatedly says,  “Then God said, ………”  “……. and it  was so.”       There is total power  in the word  of God  —  “Forever,  O LORD,  Your word  is settled  in heaven.”      Everything  that God created  in the beginning  of this creation  is standing today  because God’s word “is settled  in heaven”.     The stars,  planets,  and everything regarding them  are still in existence  simply because they are  “according  to Your ordinances,  for all things are Your servants.”

God made all the laws  of the universe.     Every orbit  He created  is still doing  what He ordered it  to do  in the beginning.     All the stars,  solar systems,  oceans,  rivers,  fruit trees,  bugs,  and all that there is  are still serving  the LORD  as God intended them  to do.

When we don’t understand  all the chaos  and disorder  around us,  we need  to remember  God’s power  in creation  and acknowledge  that  “They stand  this day  according  to Your ordinances,  for all things are Your servants.”     God is still  in control  of all  of His creation.     What God said  clear back  in the beginning  is still  “settled  in heaven.”

God’s word  even describes  the end  of all these things  and tells us  to keep our hearts  and minds ready  for His return.     We will definitely see  that the love  of the people  will grow cold  (Matthew 24:12),  but Christ Jesus tells us  in Matthew 24:44,

For this reason  you also  must be ready;  for the Son  of Man  is coming  at an hour when you do not think He will.

We keep our hearts ready  for our Lord’s coming  because  “all things are Your servants”  and  “Forever,  O LORD,  Your word  is settled  in heaven.”

Knowing  God’s love  for us  in Christ  and His authority  over all things,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for showing us  that you are  in control  of all things.”

Love,
Margaret

Not that I have already obtained it,  or have already  become perfect, but I press on  in order that  I may  lay hold  of that for which also  I was laid hold of  by Christ Jesus.
