My Times  Are in Your Hand

We might wonder  about all the stuff  that has happened  to us  throughout our lives.     There  are good remembrances of wonderful times  —  and times that really hurt  as we feel  so helpless  in our distresses.     In whatever sort  of trial  or tribulation  we need  to face  we can say  with David,  in Psalm 31:15,

My times  are in Your hand.

Everything  that happens  to us  is in God’s hand.     The assurance  of His control  gives us peace  and an inner gladness  that cannot be described.     Because  we know God is  in control,  we can pray  with David   in verse 17,

Let me not be put  to shame,  O LORD,  for I call  upon You.

When the world knows  that we truly believe in  and trust  the LORD,  our Savior,  they keep a close watch  on us  during our times  of trouble.     They want  to see us fall  into unbelief  and lose our trust  in the LORD.     In other words,  the world looks for a chance  to mock God  when His children  face troubles.     Only our Savior  can strengthen us  in these tough times  as we pray,  “Let me not  be put  to shame,  O LORD,  for I call  upon You.”     As we pray,  we recognize that  “My times  are in Your hand.”     Because our times  are in God’s hand  —  and our hearts trust Him  —  we can be sure  of His love  through thick and thin.

That is why David sang  in Psalm 31:23-24,

O love the LORD,  all you  His godly ones!
The LORD  preserves the faithful
And fully recompenses  the proud doer.

Be strong  and let your heart  take courage,
All you  who hope  in the LORD.

Even the unbelieving world  is in God’s hand,  so we also acknowledge  that the LORD  “recompenses  the proud doer”.     That is why  we should not  be afraid  of the hatred  of unbelievers  in this world.     In all things,  “My times  are in Your hand”.

Knowing the power  and love  of our Savior,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for being our Strength  and our Victory.”

Love,
Margaret
