If Anyone  Enters Through Me

In a huge building,  with all sorts  of hallways,  it’s a good feeling  to remember  and follow directions  to go through  the right door  to get  to our desired destination,  where we are expected  and will have our needs met.

In this world of many religions  and philosophies  —  the doors  of many faiths and beliefs  —  as far  as our eternal salvation  is concerned,  we must remember  and follow the directions throughout all  of God’s proven word.     We want  eternal salvation,  but if we don’t listen  to God’s specific directions,  we will  end up going  through the wrong door,  and we will end up lost  —  possibly for all eternity.

It is vital  for all  to listen to  and obey  Jesus’  specific directions  for obtaining our eternal salvation.     In John 10:9,  Jesus says,

I am the door;  if anyone enters  through Me,  he shall be saved,  and shall go in  and out,  and find pasture.

Going through Jesus  is the only way  anyone  “shall be saved”.     We cannot imagine  that going through a door  of our own good works  will save us.     Trying  to go  through the doors  of various philosophies,  meditations,  rituals,  false doctrines,  other religions,  or anything  of those sorts  will not lead us to eternal life either.

Jesus made it plain  and simple  —  I am the door;  if anyone enters  through Me,  he shall be saved.”     Just what is He saying?     Jesus is the one-and-only right “door”  —  right way  to heaven.     Only faith  in Jesus  allows one  to enter heaven.     Jesus made  that point  very clear  by saying  in Matthew 7:13-14,

Enter  through the narrow gate;  for the gate is wide  and the way is broad  that leads  to destruction,  and there are many who enter through it.     For the gate  is small  and the way  is narrow  that leads  to life,  and there are few  who find it.

We cannot go  through a wide gate  of just knowing  that Jesus is called a Savior  and that we have to also do  so many good works  and follow certain church rules  to then get  into heaven.     Neither can we trust any  of the man-made rules,  philosophies,  cults,  or religions.     It’s that “narrow gate”  of Jesus alone  that saves.     He alone  is the right “door”.

And,  when we do  go straight  to Jesus,  entrusting our salvation and forgiveness  to Him alone,  Jesus says we  “shall be saved,  and shall go in  and out,  and find pasture.”     We “go in  and out,  and find pasture”  as we go  to God’s word  for our nourishment  in the faith  —  and then go out  into the world  to live our faith.     In all our living,  we keep on going “in”  to God’s word  to be strengthened  in the true faith.     We don’t turn  to any man-made religions  or rules.     We just always  “go in”  to Jesus  in prayer  and study  of His word.

So glad  to go through the wondrous Door  of faith  in Jesus,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  thank You  for inviting us to be with You every day  of our earthly lives.

Love,
Margaret
