The Untaught  and Unstable  Distort

It is sad  and disturbing  that there are quite a number  of so-called Christian organizations  (churches)  that “distort”  the word  of God Almighty.     When God’s plan  of salvation  is so clearly laid out  for us  in the Bible,  one wonders why  there are so many cults  and groups  that twist God’s word  in such a way  that it no longer expresses  God’s love,  free salvation,  and grace  towards us.     They come up with convoluted teachings  of work righteousness,  the end days,  and false doctrines  that deny all  that Christ Jesus  is  and  has freely done  for us.

Some  of these false teachings  get started  when someone wants  to make a name  for themselves  and make a lot  of money  in the process.     Other false teachings  get started  because the preacher simply does not  believe God’s word.     The preacher does not believe  in God’s forgiveness,  love,  or plan of salvation  through faith  in Jesus.     In their superstitious unbelief,  they imagine  all sorts  of false doctrines,  that deny the truths  in God’s word.     They cannot understand  or grasp  the truth  of actually being loved  by God so much  that they simply need  to accept  the free gift  of forgiveness  that will enable them  to be taken straight  to heaven  upon their departure  from this life.

The unbelief  of some preachers  is actually  a mockery  of God’s truths.     They see it  as an opportunity  to control  everybody “stupid” enough  to believe them.     Others  don’t know G0d’s word well enough  to know what they are talking about.     Consequently,  they often contradict themselves  and keep “developing”  and “changing” their doctrines.

The apostle Peter speaks  of these things,  and then says  in 2 Peter 3:15-16,

Regard  the patience  of our Lord  as salvation;  just as also  our beloved brother Paul,  according to the wisdom given him,  wrote to you,  as also  in all his letters,  speaking  in them  of these things,  in which  are some things hard  to understand,  which the untaught  and unstable  distort,  as they do also  the rest  of the Scriptures,  to their own destruction.

It’s the  “unstable”  that look  for ways  to  “distort”  God’s word.     If they would  take God  at His word  and believe God’s word  because it has proven itself  to be true  since the beginning  of time,  they wouldn’t be  “unstable”.     If they would really delve  into God’s word  and actually study  and meditate on it  to check out  it’s truths,  they wouldn’t have  to remain  “untaught”.     But,  they keep themselves  so busy  in their  “unstable”  doctrines  that are based  on their deep-seated superstitions,  that they don’t have time  to try  to understand  God’s truths.

Their unbelief  and superstitions  drive them  in their fears  of not being good enough  for heaven.

This is exactly why  it is so important  to become grounded  in God’s word.     We cannot afford  to disregard the “Scriptures”  to our  “own destruction”.     We don’t have  to be stuck  in unbelief  and false doctrines.     We open up God’s word  and let God teach us  His truths.

In the relief  of being free  in God’s love  and salvation,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  thank You  for Your patient love.”

Love,
Margaret
