If You Seek Him

If  You  Seek Him

As a father,  who dearly loved  his children,  King David  had some serious,  heartfelt words  with his son,  Solomon,  who was  to be king  after him.     David said  in 1 Chronicles 28:9,

As  for you,  my son Solomon,  know  the God  of your father,  and serve Him  with a whole heart  and a willing mind;  for the LORD  searches  all  hearts,  and understands  every intent  of the thoughts.     If  you seek Him,  He will  let you  find Him;  but  if you forsake Him,  He will  reject you  forever.

God says  the same truth  to us today.     God knows  and understands  our every thought  and heart’s intention.     We need  to know our Creator Redeemer  well enough  to fully realize  —  and respect that.     We can’t hide  anything  from Him.     Try,  and the lies  will condemn us.

But  our absolute joy  can be  in God’s  infinite love  for us.     Throughout scripture,  God is pictured  as our heavenly Father.     As parents love  to play  hide and seek  with their children  and enjoy  purposely letting  their children  find them,  God also  wants us  to seek Him  so that  we can enjoy  finding Him.     So,  if we want joy,  we must  seek  the LORD.     Our joy  in finding God  gives God joy.

God’s promise  is that  “He will  let you  find Him”.     With such a sure promise,  we should never  want  to  “forsake Him”.

When we  consciously  live  in God’s presence,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  You surely are  our greatest joy!”

Love,
Margaret
