Pour Out  Your Heart

It’s not good  for a person  to always  bottle up  their heart breaks,  deepest concerns,  troubles,  pains,  and agonies.     We all need  an outlet  —  and we have one.     Earthly friends can sympathize  and offer  some assistance,  but much  of the time  they are very limited  in what  they can do.     Humans can empathize sincerely  with their whole hearts  —  and still be unable  to know  the very bottom depths  of our hearts  and take away  the root  of the problem.     So hurts linger.

But,  God  can better know  and define  our hurts  than even  we can  —  and He has the almighty,  loving power  to amazingly  turn things  into blessings.     Knowing that,  King David  implores us,  in Psalm 62:8,

Trust  in Him  at all times,  O people;
Pour out  your heart  before Him;
God is a refuge  for us.     Selah.

As we remember all  that our LORD  has done down through the ages  —  and how He powerfully worked our salvation  in Christ Jesus  —  we can be assured  of His love  and power  to lead us  through  this life  —  just as  He has led all  of His children  in the past.     Throughout God’s word,  we are given assurances  like that  in Hebrews 13:5,

I will  never  desert you,  nor  will I ever  forsake you.

Considering  all this,  we are  to humbly  Pour out  your heart  before Him”.     We are  to openly  tell God  the bottom depths  of our heart,  asking for His merciful help  —  all while acknowledging  that there are many things  we don’t know,  and need  to entrust  into His care.     In this  we thank God  for His faithfulness  in caring  for us  —  and gratefully know  in our hearts  that He will do  what  is best.

With praises,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for being  our strength  and song!”

Love,
Margaret
