Wages

Every wage earner  should,  by rights,  get what he  has worked for.     Even those  who have  and maintain  their own business,  have a right  to what they have arduously worked for  —  the fruits  of their labors.     It simply  is not fair  to not  get paid.     When the wages  have been stated  ahead of time,  it is only just  to get paid.

But others  will loudly  and frantically  claim  it’s  not fair  to get paid  what is due.     Why  should they complain  like that?     They’re claiming  it’s unjust  to get paid  what one  has worked for.

They don’t want  to face  what Paul  points out  in Romans 6:23,

For  the wages  of sin  is death,  but the free gift  of God  is eternal life  in Christ Jesus  our Lord.

If  we work hard  all our lives  to be unbelievers,  refusing  to fully trust  in God’s grace  and forgiveness  as a gift  to all  who believe,  we must receive  the given “wages”  for our hard work  in never believing  —  never trusting  —  constantly living  as though there is no God  to judge us  —  making out  as though  God is lying  when His  word repeatedly  says we are saved  by faith  —  claiming there is no God  —  and doing  all sorts  of similar  works,  we need  to be assured  that  we will receive  our just “wages”.

One’s  just  “wages”  will be especially bitter  when they  see all  the believers  in Christ Jesus  getting their  “free gift  of God”,  which is  “eternal life  in Christ Jesus  our Lord”.

We need  to know  what we’re  working towards.     Those  who simply believe  in Jesus’  full forgiveness  naturally do good  things  as a response  of their truly grateful hearts.     They  joyfully say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for Your marvelous work  of salvation  through Christ Jesus.”

Love,
Margaret
