Able

There are  so many things  we are not  “able”  to do  without  some sort  of assistance.     So,  we attend school  and college  to help us become  better  “able”  in whatever it is  that we need  to be strengthened.     As babies,  we even had  to have help  in obtaining food,  warmth,  and a diaper clean up.     As adults,  we buy self-help books  or learn  from someone willing  to assist.

And,  when we near  the end  of life,  we again  need help eating,  staying warm,  and cleaning up.     No matter  how strong  and able  we might be  in life,  there are areas  in which we need help.    With the help  of others,  houses are built,  cars manufactured,  clothing made,  foods made available,  etc.,  etc.

People aren’t even  “able”  to know  their Creator  Redeemer  without assistance.     Those  who try  end up  with idols  and myths  of every sort.     Inventing one’s own religion  is foolish.     We need  to know  our Creator  Redeemer  because He created us  with a conscience  and mind  that realizes  there is  a greater power  that created  and sustains  this awesome creation  —  and we are accountable  to that Creator  Judge.

How can we come  to know  the truth  about  God?     The Bible  has proven  through thousands  of years  of prophecies  that were fulfilled  in Jesus Christ  that it is  the eternal word  of God  that we must  pay attention to  —  and that word  is “able”  to help us.     Paul said  to the Christians  in Acts 20:32,

I commend you  to God  and  to the word  of His grace,  which is able  to build you up  and to give you  the inheritance  among  all those  who are sanctified.

Today,  we can open up  “the word  of His grace”  and know  that it is  “able”  to build us up  in God’s truths  and lead us  to eternal salvation.     We don’t refuse  God’s help  because  it alone  is  “able”  to help us  in our needs.

Glad  for God’s help,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Thank You  for powerfully giving us  Your word.”

Love,
Margaret
