The Man  Christ Jesus

Just because  Jesus  is fully God  and fully man  at the same time,  He is the only one  able to save us  from our sins.     And  —  the Bible specifically directs  all Christians  to pray  to Jesus.     1 Timothy 2:5-6  says,

For there is one God,  and one mediator  also between God  and menthe man  Christ Jesus,  who gave Himself  as a ransom  for all,  the testimony borne  at the proper time.

In this passage  everyone needs  to pay  full attention  to the words  one mediator”.     There are not many mediators  “between God  and men”  —  just one.     Because  we have only  one mediator”,  Jesus is  the only legitimate person  we are  to pray to.     This passage  should wake everyone up  to the truth  that it is wrong  to pray  to any saint.     No saint  is to be regarded  as a “mediator”  for us.     That would be  making out like  Jesus either does not care  about our needs  —  is unable  or unwilling  to speak  for us  —  or does not have  the power  and authority  to speak  for us.

This passage names  only Jesus  as our “mediator”.     A  “mediator”  is one  who will  speak up  for us,  and see to it  that our prayers  are answered.     There is no other   “mediator”  “between God  and men”.     So why  should any one  be audacious enough  to pray  to a saint  —  and be a put-down  to our Savior  and Redeemer?

Let us consider  2 Peter 3:18,

Grow  in the grace  and knowledge  of our Lord  and Savior  Jesus Christ.

Fully assured  of His love  and power,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  thank You  for praying  for us  and keeping us  in Your truths.”

Love,
Margaret
