Those Who Enact Evil Statutes

Those Who Enact Evil Statutes
The sins we see today have been in existence since the beginning. No matter when or where these sins take place, they will meet with God’s eternal judgment. So, we listen to Isaiah 10:1-2,
Woe to those who enact evil statutes
And to those who constantly record unjust decisions,
So as to deprive the needy of justice
And rob the poor of My people of their rights,
So that widows may be their spoil
And that they may plunder the orphans.
Of course, it is the leaders in every level of government that create various laws and statutes. Every country in this world has a government that creates the laws that govern that country and are binding on all its citizens. And, every country has judges who determine if the laws have been violated, and if so, what a just punishment should be.
Sadly, many who are in authority to govern the citizens “enact evil statutes” and “constantly record unjust decisions”. Their laws are made to satisfy their greed — and have no intent of being fair or just according to common decency and righteousness. As we are well aware, this injustice robs people of their basic human rights, and takes away their livelihood. When kept impoverished and depressed into submission, the people are devastated.
Are we to look only at the unjustness of state and national leaders? Definitely not. Each and every person needs to take a long, hard look at how they are acting with those in their family and community. Individuals cheat one another, lie, slander, scream for unjust decisions to be made, steal, and commit all sorts of atrocities. Every single person will face God’s judgment of “Woe to those who enact evil statutes, and to those who constantly record unjust decisions.”
Everyone needs to straighten out. In a right relationship with our Creator/Savior/Judge, God’s children say, “Hallelujah! LORD, thank You for leading us in Your truths.”
Love,
Margaret
