Your King  Is Coming

In ignorance  of who Jesus  really is  many despise Him  with irreverent disdain.     They cannot believe  that Jesus is anything but  a poor preacher, who was followed  by uneducated people,  and finally got  the crucifixion  He “deserved”.     They are ignorant  of the fulfilled prophecy recorded  in John 12:12-15,

On the next day  the large crowd  who had come  to the feast,  when they heard  that Jesus  was coming  to Jerusalem,  took the branches  of the palm trees  and went out  to meet Him,  and began  to shout,  “Hosanna!     Blessed  is He  who comes  in the name  of the Lord,  even the King  of Israel.”     Jesus finding a young donkey,  sat  on it;  as it is written,  “FEAR NOT,  DAUGHTER  OF ZION;  BEHOLD,  YOUR KING IS COMING,  SEATED  ON A DONKEY’S COLT.”

The prophecy  of Zechariah 9:9  was fulfilled  as Jesus rode  the donkey’s colt.     It’s telling us  that Jesus  is our King.     In arrogant pride,  many don’t want  a humble King.     They don’t want  to admit  that their sins  are so condemning  that they need  Jesus  to pay  for their sins  by giving up His life  on the cross.     And,  they don’t want  to think about  the absolute power  of God’s word  in making  that 520 year old prophecy  come true.

For those  who are  somewhat ashamed  of Jesus’ humbleness,  one needs  to consider Revelation 19:11-16,

And I saw heaven opened,  and behold,  a white horse,  and He  who sat on it  is called Faithful  and True,  and in righteousness  He judges  and wages war.     His eyes  are a flame  of fire,  and on His head  are many diadems;  and He has a name written  on Him  which no one knows except Himself.     He is clothed  with a robe dipped  in blood,  and His name  is called  The Word  of God.     And the armies  which are  in heaven,  clothed  in fine linen,  white and clean,  were following Him  on white horses.     From His mouth  comes  a sharp sword,  so that with it  He may strike down  the nations,  and He will  rule them  with a rod  of iron;  and He treads  the wine press  of the fierce wrath  of God,  the Almighty.     And on His robe  and on His thigh  He has a name written,  “KING  OF KINGS,  AND LORD  OF LORDS.”

This is a picture  of what everyone will see  as they learn  the identity  of their King.     He is more than awesome  and we need  to respect that now.

Jesus is much more  than human words  can tell,  so we say,  “Hallelujah!     Come into our hearts  King of kings.”

Love,
Margaret
