He  Is to Be  Accursed!

Twisting  God’s  given word  is an  “accursed”  thing.     Since the very beginning,  there have been those  who have dared  to contradict  God Almighty.     They dare  to “preach”  their own opinions  as a “gospel truth”  and even write  their opinions, claiming  that their words  supersede God’s word  —  because they are  more recent.     They might even  be more sneaky,  claiming  that their words are  in full agreement  with God’s words  —  but,  recommend  that people  read their opinions  instead of reading  the Bible.

Anyone  who obeys  such recommendations  is bound  to end up  accepting falsehoods  —  especially when  the false preacher  sounds authoritative  —  misquotes the Bible  —  and they are afraid  to disobey  such a person.

Such false preaching  can be recognized  by its own internal inconsistencies  and by the fact  that it disagrees  with the proven word  of God.     All  of God’s word  is proven,  with intricate detail,  in the fulfillment  of many prophecies  regarding  our Savior,  Christ Jesus.     The false preachers  make up prophesies  that never come true  —  but they always quickly sweep those things  under the rug.     People forget  after awhile,  you know.

Since  this sort  of thing  was happening  in the beginning  of the church,  Paul wrote  in Galatians 1:6-10,

I am amazed  that you  are so quickly  deserting Him  who called you  by the grace  of Christ,  for a different gospel;  which is really not another;  only there are some  who are disturbing you  and want  to distort  the gospel  of Christ.     But  even if we,  or an angel  from heaven,  should preach  to you  a gospel contrary  to what  we have preached  to youhe is  to be accursed!     As we have said before,  so I say  again now,  if any man  is preaching  to you  a gospel contrary  to what you receivedhe is to be accursed!

The  “gospel”  that Paul preached  was  in full agreement  with all  of the Old Testament  —  and all  of the New Testament.     The New Testament  is the preaching  of Christ Jesus  Himself  —  and His apostles.     That is the preaching  we have  “received”  when we  came  to faith  by paying attention  to God’s given word  —  His proven,  eternal word.     So,  we can “receive”  that same  true “gospel”,  even today.

Everything  we hear  from another person  needs  to be seriously checked out  with God’s proven word.

Free  in Christ Jesus,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  Your gospel truly is  good news!”

Love,
Margaret
