Integrity

We should all desire  to have “integrity”  in all of our living.     To have “integrity”  is to have good,  sound,  moral principles  —  to be upright,  honest,  and sincere  in all of our ways,  with ourselves,  other people,  and with God Almighty.

That’s mighty important.     One might be able  to fool  other people  —  and even ourselves  —  about our uprightness,  honesty,  and sincerity,  but we’ll never  be able  to fool God.

King David was someone  with real “integrity”.     When God chose David  to be king over Israel,  it was said  in 1 Samuel 13:14,

The LORD  has sought out  for Himself  a man  after His own heart,  and the LORD  has appointed him  as ruler  over His people.

God wants  to see “integrity”  in all  of His children.     David knew God chose him  because he was honest  and sincere,  truly seeking  to live according  to God’s love.     But,  David also realized  that we are all sinners,  fully capable  of falling  into great sins.     So,  he prayed  in Psalm 25:21,

Let integrity  and uprightness  preserve me,
For I wait  for You.

That needs  to be  every Christian’s prayer.     Let us be sincere in asking for sincerity.

Knowing God answers prayers like this,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord,  let Your Holy Spirit  work in our hearts  to Your glory.”

Love,
Margaret
