My Heart Said  to You

When we love someone,  we are pleased  to please them.     It just makes us happy  to be good  and pleasing  in their sight.     We want them  to enjoy  being with us,  and we enjoy  seeing them happy  with our presence.     It’s a mutual contentment.

King David  always enjoyed being  in the LORD’s presence  with praise,  thanksgiving,  and worship  —  and the LORD enjoyed David’s  sincerity  and heartfelt honor.     When David  meditated  on God’s word,  he sang  to the LORD,  in Psalm 27:8,

When You said,  “Seek  My face,”  my heart said  to You,
“Your face,  O Lord,  I shall seek.”

David would  “seek”  God’s face  by meditating  on God’s word  to us.     It was there,  in God’s presence,  that He learned  God’s will  for our lives  and saw  the awesome beauty  of God’s love  for all  of us.

God also wants us  to “seek”  His face  by reading  and meditating  on His word  to us.     As we face  each day’s challenges,  we need  to first say  with David,  “Your face,  O Lord,  I shall seek.”     Our most pleasant time  on earth  is time spent  with the LORD  in sincere praise,  thanksgiving,  worship,  and meditation.

In contented enjoyment  in God’s word,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for stooping down  to open up  Your word  to us.”

Love,
Margaret
