They  Did Not Receive  the Love  of the Truth

Truth  is so precious.     Why?     It is stable,  holy,  sure,  and goodness is always there.     Even when we need  to face up  to the sins  in our lives,  there is a special goodness  and relief  in the truth  that makes us free  —  and draws us close  to God our Creator,  Redeemer.     So,  even though  we might fear  facing the truth,  it frees us  and blesses us  when we dwell  in it.

Knowing  the eternal love  of Christ Jesus,  we gladly  receive the truth  —  and allow Him  to wash us clean  of all our sins  —  just because He promised,  and He speaks truth.

But,  that is not how it is  with many  in this world.     Those  who willingly follow  and fall  into Satan’s luring traps  have a different end  for their lives.     2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 describes the evils  of the end days,

Then  that lawless one  will be revealed  whom the Lord  will slay  with the breath  of His mouth  and bring  to an end  by the appearance  of His coming;  that is,  the one  whose coming  is in accord  with the activity  of Satan,  with all power  and signs  and false wonders,  and with all the deception  of wickedness  for those  who perish,  because  they did not receive  the love  of the truth  so as  to be saved.     For this reason  God will send  upon them  a deluding influence  so that they will believe  what is false,  in order  that they all  may be judged  who did not believe  the truth,  but took pleasure  in wickedness.

Those who do not  “receive  the love  of the truth”  reject God’s truths  with sneers and mocking.     Many  only want  to see activities  “with all power  and signs  and false wonders”.     They imagine  that God is  in these deceptions  “of wickedness”.     These people are bored  with God’s  eternal truths  in His word.     They want  to see  the action  of what they deem  to be miracles  —  something they can “ooooh!”  and  “ahhhh!”  over.

As we  “receive  the love  of the truth”  —  and stay stable  in God’s word,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord,  thank You  for the beauty  of Your eternal truths.”

Love,
Margaret
