Wait

People seem  to be  more and more impatient.     We want  what we want  —  and we want it now.     Everything must be instantly gratifying us.     If we don’t  immediately get  what we want,  we become upset,  frustrated,  snarly,  and complaining.     Our impatience  can even  be habitual  in our prayers  to the LORD God Almighty.

But,  we should never lose patience  with our Creator and Redeemer,  whose wisdom  and love surpasses  our wildest imaginations.     God knows  what is best.     Everything  He does  and allows  is for our good  in the end.     It does not matter  that we do not understand  all of His purpose  or ways.     His love  is caring  for us  through every situation.     He can be trusted  to keep His word  and to carry us  through  every circumstance  to our heavenly home.

Knowing  how to “wait”  patiently  is trusting.     It’s having faith  in all that God is  —  all that history  and creation have proven  that He is.     King David  had that kind  of trust  in the LORD.     When his enemies  were out  to get him,  he wrote  in Psalm 27:14,

Wait  for the LORD;
Be strong  and let your heart  take courage;
Yes wait  for the LORD.

If we don’t believe  God’s power  and love,  we will despair  at every overwhelming challenge.     Then we will  let our hearts  become depressed.     David realized  that even when  we meet death,  we are  with the LORD.     We can see  a strong,  patient faith  in Joseph  when he landed  in prison  for years  (See Genesis, chapters 39-41.)     Abraham also waited  for the LORD  when he didn’t understand things.     The Bible  is full  of examples  of people  just like us,  who faced situations where they had to  Wait  for the LORD”.

They had no clue  how things would turn out,  but they knew  that the LORD is faithful,  trustworthy,  and good.     Whatever  He does  has got to be good.

Knowing  God’s love  in Christ Jesus,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  it is good  to know  that all things are  in Your loving hands.”

Love,
Margaret
