My Times

My Times
When we think back on our lives, so many things have changed. Old friends have died — we meet new people — we may have moved a number of times — jobs change — family size has either grown or diminished — maybe our health has changed. We’ve learned many different things and have gained experience in various areas. We’ve had times of fear, danger, temptation, shame, weakness, strength, challenges, joy, blessings — you name it.
In all that change King David had a constant. David said to the LORD in Psalm 31:14-15,
But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD,
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
God Almighty is our constant, so that we also say to the LORD, “My times are in Your hand” — my past, present, and future.
King David experienced so many troubles. Through it all, David still proclaimed in Psalm 62:8,
Trust in Him at all times, O people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.
That is a part of God’s eternal truth. It will never change. So we can be assured that “God is a refuge for us”. As we pour out our hearts before Him, we can rest in the truth that “My times are in Your hand”. God does all things well.
We need to especially keep this in mind because Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:1,
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
Whether or not we are facing tough times now, we need to realize that “difficult times will come”. All the “times” since Jesus ascended into heaven, are considered “the last days”. Through all our “times” in looking for Jesus’ return, we need to trust in the Lord, our Savior.
With trusting hearts growing in faith, we say, “Hallelujah! LORD, it is so good to know that You carry all our times in Your hand.”
Love,
Margaret
