When I Consider Your Heavens

As a child,  I remember singing,

Twinkle,  twinkle,  little star,
How I wonder  what you are!
Up above  the world so high
Like a diamond  in the sky.
Twinkle,  twinkle,  little star,
How I wonder  what you are!

Just think.     There are more stars  than we can count.     Most of them  are much larger  than our sun.     They are composed  of solid masses  and gases.     They’ve been shining  for thousands  of years  —  they keep time  for us  —  and evolutionists theorize  that they started  with a big bang.      So,  where did all the solid masses  and gases  come from  to make that big bang?     How is it  that their orbits  are so precise  as to mark time?     Big bangs are not precise.

King David rightly says  in Psalm 8:3-4,

When I consider  Your heavens,  the work  of Your fingers,
The moon  and the stars,  which You have ordained;
What is man  that You take thought  of him,
And the son  of man  that You care  for him?

Genesis and  Psalm 33:6 inform us,

By the word  of the LORD  the heavens  were made,
And by the breath  of His mouth  all their host.

In all this,  “What is man  that You take thought  of him?”     Man will never be wiser,  more knowledgeable,  or more powerful  than the LORD God Almighty.     But, he tries  in his puny,  laughable,  and silly efforts  to know things  of God.

The power  of God  is far beyond  mankind’s comprehension.     We are blessed  that in His power  and perfect love  He truly cares  for us  —  and gives us eternal salvation  as a gift  through faith  in Christ Jesus.     We live  by faith  and consider  what Jesus said  in Luke 18:17,

Truly I say  to you,  whoever does not receive  the kingdom  of God  like a child  will not enter it  at all.

Accepting God  as LORD,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for showing us a tiny bit  of Your glory  in the stars  and our salvation  in Christ Jesus.”
