Our Heart  Rejoices  in Him

Some people are very fearful  of other people.      They always want  to be  politically correct  —  according to the latest  intimidating demands  of mere sinners,  who make out like  their words  must be obeyed  —  or else.     So,  the question is,  “Or else what?”

Are we  to put God first  or a fellow sinner?     We need  to think about that.     Intimidating people  can make us afraid  because of whatever sort  of presumed authority  they have over us.     So,  we fear  for our earthly life  and earthly comforts.     We might even fear  for others  in our family  or for friends.

But,  the bottom line  will always be,  what sort of fear  and respect  do we have  for God Almighty  and His eternal word?     Does our trust  in God  lead us  to honestly live  according to His word  —  or does our lack  of trust  lead us  to cave in  to this world?     Will our lack  of faith  and trust  steal away  our hope  for eternal life?

Trust leads us  to follow.     Trusting God’s eternal word  leads us  to follow it.     We know  God has the power  to make His word  eternally true.     It does not change.     Trusting God’s word  assures us  that God alone  is holy  —  that He alone  is our eternal salvation  —  that He will lead us  through this life  and take us  to our home  in heaven  —  and that His love  for us  is almighty.

For all  of God’s almighty love  and power  to care for us,  Psalm 33:21 exclaims,

Our heart  rejoices  in Him,
Because  we trust  in His holy name.

As the psalmist  rejoiced  in God’s almighty power  to deliver us,  we can rejoice.     We can rejoice  “because we trust  in His holy name.”     Trusting God  is mighty important.     It shows a true faith.

In faith,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD God,  You created all things  by Your word,  and You understand  all  of our ways.     Create in us  clean hearts  and a right spirit  that we may rejoice.”

Love,
Margaret
