By Faith  We Understand  That the Worlds  Were Prepared

Nobody understands it  —  nobody fathoms  the great  and wondrous depths  of it  —  but,  as Hebrews 11:1-3 declares,

Now faith  is the assurance  of things  hoped for,  the conviction  of things  not seen.     For by it  the men  of old  gained approval.     By faith  we understand  that the worlds  were prepared  by the word  of God,  so that what is seen  was not made  out of things  which are visible.

Hebrews 11 then goes on to describe  the awesome faith  of many  of God’s faithful people.     Many  had miracles  in their lives,  while others faced tortures,  mocking,  imprisonment,  and even death  for their faith.     The one thing they had  in common  was their faith  in the LORD God Almighty.

They all knew  for sure  and understood  that the worlds  were prepared  by the word  of God,  so that what is seen  was not made  out of things  which are visible.”

That’s wonderful!     They all knew  that every little thing  in all  of creation  was created  “by the word  of God.     God spoke  and what He commanded  came  into being.     Whether it be  all the stars,  planets,  or anything  in life  —  all things were  “prepared by the word  of God.     The intricacies  of a butterfly,  the massive orbits  of the stars,  sun,  and planets  —  God’s wisdom  and power created it all  “by the word  of God.

We understand this  by “faith”  —  but,  it is not a mindless,  stupid,  superstitious faith.    Much rather,  we observe God’s power  in fulfilling all His prophecies  —  we listen to God’s word  through the prophets  —  we see the unfathomable intelligence  of everything  in creation  and how God sustains  it all.     That takes  much more power  than any  of the  unworkable evolutionary theories.

So,  just as  “the men  of old gained approval”  for facing the truth  “by faith”,  may we also gain  “approval” through “faith”  and  “the conviction  of things  not seen”.

Seeing God’s intelligence,  love,  and power  through faith,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  how very great  You are!”

Love,
Margaret
