None  of Those  Who Take Refuge  in Him

When nothing appears  to be going right  —  and evils  of all sorts  seem to be rapidly gaining  the upper hand  —  a Christian might be tempted   to wonder  if God will come  to the rescue.     They are most likely concerned  about an earthly rescue  —  which obviously  does not always happen.     Many of God’s children  have been martyred  for their faith.     There are times when God does rescue  His children  from martyrdom  —  and there are times when God allows His child  to be martyred  —  just to be saved forever.     And,  there are times when God allows evil,  unjust rulers  to have control  over His people.

The Bible is filled  with accounts  of all kinds  of instances.     God knows  what is best  in every situation.     King David witnessed  in Psalm 34:22,

The LORD redeems  the soul  of His servants;
And none  of those  who take refuge  in Him  will be condemned.

Every single person  —  every single  “soul”  —  that believes  and trusts  in the LORD  is surely redeemed  unto eternal life.      Absolutely “none”  of them  “will be condemned”.     Therefore  those who believe  in Jesus,  gladly  “take refuge  in Him”.     They trust that  in any situation,  God is caring  for them.     And,  they know that death  is simply the opening  of the door  to heaven.     Whatever happens,  we are safe  in God’s care.

Knowing  and trusting  in God’s redeeming love,  God’s children  have peace  as they take “refuge  in Him”.     Philippians 4:7 assures us,

And the peace  of God,  which surpasses  all comprehension,  will guard  your hearts  and your minds  in Christ Jesus.

We are given God’s peace  as we grow  in His word  to us.     To learn  to know God better,  we must learn  from Him daily,  by studying His word  to us.     In learning  to trust Him  as our sure refuge,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for redeeming us  in Christ Jesus.”

Margaret
