Faithful  Is He  Who Calls You

All Christians  have various struggles  throughout their lives.     One might sometimes seriously wonder  about their ability  to remain strong  in the Lord.     The apostle Paul  had something to say  about that  in 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24,

Now  may the God  of peace Himself  sanctify you entirely;  and may your spirit  and soul  and body  be preserved  complete,  without blame  at the coming  of our Lord Jesus Christ.     Faithful  is He  who calls you,  and He also  will bring it  to pass.

In and of ourselves,  we are weak  —  but  —  “Faithful is He  who calls you,  and He also  will bring it  to pass.”     God has promised  to be with all  of His children  in their every trial.     Our ability  to remain strong  through every trial  is not just about us  —  it’s about God  and His faithfulness  to us.

There is much  throughout God’s word  that repeats  this truth.     A couple verses  could include,

So  do not fear,  for I am with you;  do not be dismayed,  for I am  your God.     I will strengthen you  and help you;  I will uphold you  with My righteous right hand.       Isaiah 41:10

For this reason  I also suffer these things,  but I am not ashamed;  for I know  whom I have believed  and I am convinced  that He is able  to guard  what I have entrusted  to Him  until that day.       2 Timothy 1:12

In other words,  all God’s children are  to entrust  their souls  and salvation  to God’s righteous faithfulness.     We can have “peace”  in our hearts  and minds  because God will assuredly  preserve us  “without blame  at the coming  of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

That is a great comfort  that leads us  to say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  my times  are in Your faithful hands.”
