Send Out  Your Light  and Your Truth

The hurts  and pains  we experience  are all very personal.     We cannot really explain them  because there are so many things involved  —  years’ worth  of happenings  in our personal experiences.     Other people  might try  to comfort us,  but their comfort  is not really satisfying.     Not even we  can put together  our whole reasoning  —  it’s just beyond us.

We know  deep down  that we love God  because He definitely  is our Creator  and Redeemer  —  but  we still feel rejected  and ever so put down.     Because  we don’t understand  the intricacies  of our very own situation,  we plead  to God  with the psalmist  in Psalm 43:3,

O send out  Your light  and Your truth,  let them  lead me;
Let them bring me  to Your holy hill
And to Your dwelling places.

We need  God’s guidance,  strength,  and support  when we don’t have  a clue  as to what  is going on  around us.     When we see  God’s  “light”  and  “truth”  that we have experienced  in our meditation times  in the Bible,  we will  acknowledge  Psalm 43:4,

Then  I will go  to the altar  of God,
To God  my exceeding joy;
And upon  the lyre  I shall praise You,  O God,  my God.

We will willingly  “praise”  the LORD,  “O God,  my God”,  when we remember  His trustworthiness  and love  in Christ Jesus  —  when we remember  how God  has dealt  with all His children  down through  the ages.     Only then  can we tell ourselves  that we don’t have  to be so awfully disturbed  any more.     There will come  the time  of our enlightenment  when we will realize  that God  really has been helping us  all along.     Times  have been tough  —  but God’s loving care  is sure.

Resting  in God’s love  in Christ,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD God Almighty,  You surely are  my “exceeding joy”!

Love,
Margaret
