Pour Out  Your Heart  Before Him

Sometimes  Christians forget  to pray  when they’re  in dire straits.     One gets so absorbed  in the distractions  of their problems  that they only concentrate  on solving the challenge  all by themselves  —  instead of presenting it  to God.     When King David faced deviously  false men,  he realized  he couldn’t trust  one word  they said.     They pretended  to be friends,  but were cursing David  under their breath.

That put David  in a scary position,  and he turned  to God  for the help  he needed  in facing  such liars.     David wrote  in Psalm 62:7-8,

On God  my salvation  and my glory rest;
The rock  of my strength,  my refuge  is in God.

Trust  in Him  at all times,  O people;
Pour out  your heart  before Him;
God is a refuge  for us.     Selah.

It doesn’t matter who  we are:   rich,  poor,  young,  old,  an important leader,  or a person   of low degree.     We are nothing  unless we acknowledge  the LORD God,  our Savior  as  “my salvation  and my glory;  the rock of my strength,  my refuge”.     That’s basically  our everything.

Remembering  that God is  our everything  —  and that He loves us dearly  in Christ Jesus  —  we know  we should  “pour out your heart  before Him”.     We honor the LORD  when we honestly  make Him  our  “refuge”.

If we imagine  we can take care  of ourselves  with our own  “strength”,  we are honoring ourselves,  instead of God.     That’s silly,  because we can’t even take  our next breath  without God’s allowance  for it.

Loving God  for loving us  in Christ,  we  “pour out”  our hearts  “before Him”  only.     He alone is our  “salvation”.     Relieved  in trusting Him,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for stooping down  to be our refuge  and strength.”

Love,
Margaret
