The Fear  of the LORD  Is Clean,  Enduring Forever

People can have  all sorts  of mixed up feelings  and beliefs  about God Almighty,  our Creator Redeemer.     Some are so afraid  of God’s judgments  that they hate the LORD  and feel  He has no right  to judge their lives  that so easily fall  into sin.     They have no clue  about how good  and loving  God’s ways  and laws are.

Other people  have no respect  for God  because they are so  in love  with their sins,  and imagine  that the LORD  does not care about how anyone lives.     Everybody needs  to know  the truth  of the matter.     King David wrote  in Psalm 19:7-9,

The law  of the LORD  is perfect,  restoring the soul;
The testimony  of the LORD  is sure,  making wise the simple.
The precepts  of the LORD  are right,  rejoicing the heart;
The commandment  of the LORD  is pure,  enlightening the eyes.
The fear  of the LORD  is clean,  enduring forever;
The judgments  of the LORD  are true;  they are righteous altogether.

God’s  “law”  restores souls  because it shows us  the wondrous beauty  of true goodness  and holiness  —  the goodness  we long for  in our lives.     God’s “testimony”  is “sure”  and makes us “wise”  because its truthfulness  has been proven  in many fulfilled prophecies.     God’s  “precepts”  —  His ways  —  are so “right”  they make us glad  in wanting  to live  in them.

God is eternal  —  He has no beginning  or end.     We can see  His wisdom  and love  in all  of creation.     Therefore  we know   “the fear  of the LORD  is clean,  enduring forever”.       This “fear”  is a deep respect  and reverence.     It is a respect  filled with love  for God.     1 John 4:18 explains,

There is no fear  in love;  but perfect love casts out fear,  because fear  involves punishment,  and the one  who fears  is not perfected  in love.

Let God  perfect His love  in our hearts  through faith  in Christ Jesus  so we may truthfully say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  Your love  for us  in Christ is wondrously beautiful.”

Love,
Margaret
