The LORD  Bless You

Numbers 6:22-27

Then the LORD spoke  to Moses,  saying,  “Speak  to Aaron  and to his sons,  saying,  “Thus you shall bless the sons  of Israel.     You shall say  to them:

The LORD bless you,  and keep you;
The LORD  make His face shine  on you,
And be gracious  to you;
The LORD  lift up  His countenance  on you,
And give you peace.’

So they shall  invoke  My name  on the sons  of Israel,  and I then  will bless them.”

Just as Moses  and Aaron  were commanded  to bless all  of Israel,  so today,  Christians bless those  of the faith.     To bless means  to declare holy  —  to ask  God’s favor upon  —  and  to ask  for God’s protection.     Christians  “invoke”  —  extend  —  this blessing  to other Christians  as a heartfelt prayer  because of their honest love  for one another.

So,  to all those  who love the LORD,  our God  and Savior,  may  “the LORD  bless you”  as you trustingly live  in His care.

As we humbly accept  all the LORD’s blessings  day after day,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD God,  thank You  for providing  for all  of our needs  —  and then some.”

Love,
Margaret
