To All  Who Call  Upon Him  in Truth

We know  how little children  will try  to be pleasing  in their parents’ sight  just so they can get  whatever they are planning  to ask for.     In the same way,  adults  who desire something  will try  to look pleasing  in the sight  of those  who can fulfill  their desires.     There might not be  much “truth”  in their pretentious goodness  —  just a fervent coveting  of a secret desire.

So,  human nature  can lead one  to be rather sneaky  in trying  to get their way.     God doesn’t want anyone  to approach Him  in any sort  of deceitful way.     Our prayers  to our LORD and Savior  must be humble,  forthright,  honest,  righteous,  loving,   and in true faith.     In Psalm 145:17-21,  King David says,

The LORD  is righteous  in all His ways,
And kind  in all His deeds.
The LORD  is near  to all  who call upon Him,
To all  who call upon Him  in truth.
He will fulfill  the desire  of those  who fear Him;
He will also hear  their cry  and will save them.

The LORD keeps all  who love Him,
But all the wicked  He will destroy.
My mouth  will speak  the praise  of the LORD,
And all flesh  will bless  His holy name  forever and ever.

It couldn’t be said any plainer  —  The LORD  is near  to all  who call upon Him,  to all who call upon Him  in truth.     Nobody  can fool God  by pretending to be good  and sincere.     God knows  our every thought,  desire,  and intent  before we approach Him.

There’s a lot  to love  and respect  about the LORD.     We can learn  to love the LORD  by studying  His word.     His faithful love  and righteousness  shine through His word  to let us know  we are greatly loved  as we  “call upon Him  in truth”.

Knowing His love,  we pray  to Him  in love,  and say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for leading us  through this life.”

Love,
Margaret
