Alive Together  With Christ

Some people think  that being “alive”  is only  about our lives  in this sinful world.     There is an infinitely better aliveness.     It’s the aliveness  of a faith  that is assured  of our home  in heaven.     We aren’t  in heaven  while  on this earth  —  but,  we surely know  that heaven  is our home.     We are headed  home  —  and God is  with us  absolutely  all the way.      As we look forward  to our heavenly home,  we humbly believe  and accept  God’s offer  of mercy  and love  to forgive  all of our sins  for Jesus’ sake.

It’s true  that we are still sinners,  who don’t deserve heaven  as our eternal home  —  but Ephesians 2:4-6  shows us,

But God,  being rich  in mercy,  because of His great love  with which He loved us,  even when we were dead  in our transgressions,  made us alive together  with Christ  (by grace  you have been saved),  and raised us up  with Him,  and seated us  with Him  in the heavenly places  in Christ Jesus…….

Even though we still sin  while on this earth,  as we came  to faith,  God Almighty  has made us spiritually  “alive  together  with Christ”.     We no longer  love the passing things  of this earth.     Our love  is directed  to our Savior,  who has sacrificially loved us  so dearly.     We know it  and appreciate it.     That makes us  “alive together  with Christ”.

Our aliveness  is our appreciative awareness  of God’s faithful love  in Christ  that changes  our attitudes  about our lives  on earth  and our lives  throughout eternity.     Our aliveness  is resting  in the truth  of Ephesians 2:8-9,

For by grace  you have been saved  through faith;  and that not  of yourselves,  it is the gift  of God;  not as a result  of works…

Being  “alive together  with Christ”  leads us  to love  in the way He loved us.     So,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for making us alive  to Your eternal love.”

Love,
Margaret
