Perfect,  Confirm,  Strengthen  and Establish You

In all  of our life’s trials,  we can feel awfully weak  and helpless  —  and we definitely  are.     But,  we don’t have  to worry  about it.     Our response  might be,  “Eeek!     But,  I might not  be saved  and get  to heaven.”     We surely do  have to be  seriously concerned  about staying  in the true  word  of God  in the Bible  —  and nothing else.     But,  as we do study  and stick  to God’s word  through all  of our trials,  1 Peter 5:10 assures us,

After you have suffered  for a little while,  the God  of all grace,  who called you  to His eternal glory  in Christ,  will Himself  perfect,  confirm,  strengthen  and establish you.

God promises  to personally  keep us safe  in the truths  He gives us  in His word  —  will Himself  perfect,  confirm,  strengthen  and establish you.”      We cannot  “perfect” ourselves  —  “confirm” ourselves  —  “strengthen” ourselves  —  or “establish” ourselves  in the truths  of God’s word.     God  “Himself”  will do all that  for us  as we study  and meditate  on His word  in faith.

The trials  and challenges  in this world  are too much  for any human  to overcome  by their own strength  and wherewithal.      If we don’t study  God’s word  —  and only lean  on the opinions  of some other person  —  we are likely  to fall  into false teachings.     So,  Colossians 2:8  warns us,

See to it  that no one  takes you captive  through philosophy  and empty deception,  according  to the tradition  of men,  according to the elementary principles  of the world,  rather than according  to Christ.

Loving  God’s truths  and trusting  in them,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for Your eternal word.     We are  so glad  that Your word  is eternal  and has proven itself  through many fulfilled prophecies.     Help us  to grow  in Your truths.”

Love,
Margaret
