The Kings  of Sheba  and Seba  Offer Gifts

God desires  to comfort  and assure us  that Jesus truly  is our Savior  —  and that Jesus  does,  indeed,  take away absolutely all  of our sins.     We do need  to be open  to God’s comfort  and assurance.     There are many  who refuse  to pay attention  to God’s comfort  and assurance,  and they suffer  from doubts  and fears.     We need  to open up  His word  of promises  —  all the Old Testament prophecies  of a Savior  —  and see  how those prophecies  were fulfilled  in the New Testament.

Just one such fulfilled prophecy  was made  in Psalm 72:10-11,

Let the kings  of Tarshish  and of the islands  bring presents;
The kings  of Sheba  and Seba  offer gifts.
And let all kings bow down  before Him,
All nations serve Him.

Psalm 72  was written by Solomon  somewhere around 970 B.C.     No other worldly “god” has been able  to make  such a prophecy  come true.     God fulfilled  this prophecy  in Matthew 2:1-2  and Matthew 2:11,

Now  after Jesus  was born  in Bethlehem  of Judea  in the days  of Herod the king,  magi from the east arrived  in Jerusalem,  saying, “Where is He  who has been born King  of the Jews?     For we saw  His star  in the east  and have come  to worship Him…….   (verses 1-2)

After coming  into the house  they saw  the Child  with Mary His mother;  and they fell  to the ground  and worshiped Him.     Then,  opening their treasures,  they presented  to Him gifts  of gold,  frankincense,  and myrrh……..  (verse 11)

The treasures  of our hearts  are faith,  hope,  and love.     These need  to be our gifts  of tribute  to show our gratitude,  respect,  and honor  to the LORD,  who loves us dearly.      With open hearts,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for the comfort  of Your fulfilled prophecies.”

Love,
Margaret
