Having  Now Been  Justified

We face many temptations  throughout our lives,  but one  of the worst  is the temptation  to feel  that we are not worthy  to live  in heaven  with our heavenly Father  and Savior.     We know  we are sinful every day  of our lives  and feel  that we can just never  be good enough  to get  to heaven.

And,  one must admit  we never will be good enough  with our own efforts.     Fully aware  of our predicament,  our heavenly Father  has lovingly  stooped down  to help us.     God sent  His most perfect,  only begotten Son,  Jesus Christ,  to suffer and die  to fully pay  for all our sins.     The penalty  we deserve  has been paid.

God Almighty loves us  that much.     When Satan tempts us  to feel  that we’ll never be able  to live  with our heavenly Father,  we need  to remember  God’s holy word  to all  of us  in Romans 5:8-9,

But  God demonstrates  His own love  toward us,  in that while  we were yet sinners,  Christ died  for us.     Much more then,  having now  been justified  by His blood,  we shall  be saved  from the wrath  of God  through Him.

We should never doubt  God’s love  for us  after all  He has gone through  to thoroughly cleanse us  of all our sins.     All of God’s word  to us  repeatedly tells  of His love  and salvation  through faith  in Jesus,  our Savior.     It’s the shed  “blood”  of Jesus  on the cross  that has been  our atonement.     All our sins  have been atoned for.     So,  having now  been justified  by His blood,  we shall  be saved  from the wrath  of God  through Him.”

There is nothing left  to pay for.     Note how  “been justified”  is past tense.     Our full atonement  is finished.     Jesus’  “blood”  is what  “justified  us.      Now we should  rejoice,  putting our faith  in God’s promise  that when we pass  from this earthly life,  we will have eternal life  with our heavenly Father  and Savior.

Resting  in being  “justified,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for  making us worthy  by Your grace.”

Love,
Margaret
