I Will Rescue Him
I Will Rescue Him
Psalm 91 is a psalm of great comfort. It tells about God’s promise to be with and protect all those who trust in Him. But, we also read in many parts of the Bible that God’s prophets and believers have undergone many trials, tortures, and death. In Psalm 91:14-16, God specifically promises His faithful ones,
Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With a long life I will satisfy him
And let him see My salvation.
So, how have those who have been killed for their faith been delivered?
In all the trials and persecutions that God’s children go through, God keeps their faith safe, so that their eternal salvation is never in danger. Every single Christian life is lived to do the work God intended for that Christian. When death comes, it means that God’s purpose for that Christian has been accomplished. It is time to go home — to heaven. At that moment all the troubles and persecutions for that Christian are over.
During the Christian’s lifetime, he was able to overcome the spiritual attacks of the evil one and remain in the true faith “because he has loved” God. So God protected him because he accepted God’s grace and salvation. Through every trouble, God sustained him in the truth. The faithful are rewarded with “a long life” in eternity where they will be forever face to face with the LORD in all His glory.
We are to know that we are “delivered”, set “securely on high”, “rescued”, and satisfied with a “long life”. Trusting God’s promises, we say, “Hallelujah! LORD, thank You for keeping us safe.”
A Christian devotional to glorify the LORD of lords and GOD of gods.
Pray for our country.
The LORD made this day, let us rejoice and be glad in Him.
The word of the LORD is tried;
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
Sing for joy in the LORD, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.
How blessed are those who dwell in Thy house!
They are ever praising Thee.
Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.
Not that I have already obtained it, or have already become perfect, but I press on in order that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
