And  the Word  Was God

Jesus  is absolutely amazing.     Nobody can fully explain Him.     But,  we must think on  and realize the truths  in John 1:1-5,

In the beginning  was the Word,  and the Word  was with God,  and the Word was God.     He was  in the beginning  with God.     All things  came into being  through Him,  and apart  from Him  nothing came  into being  that has come into being.     In Him  was life,  and the life was  the Light  of men.     The Light shines  in the darkness,  and the darkness  did not comprehend it.

Jesus always has been God  —  “In the beginning  was the Word,  and the Word  was with God,  and the Word  was God.     That is why Matthew 1:23  says  of Him,

“And they shall call His name Immanuel”,  which translated means,  “God with us.”

So,  the Bible is not talking about just any ol’ body dying  to pay for our sins.     God Himself,  in human form,  died for our sins.     Jesus always  has been God  and He created all things.     That is why  many Bible references  say things  like Isaiah 45:21,

And  there is no other God  besides Me,
A righteous God  and a Savior;
There is none except Me.

John said,  “All things  came into being  through Him”.     So also,  verses like  Hebrews 1:1-2 declare,

God,  after He spoke  long ago  to the fathers  in the prophets  in many portions  and in many ways,  in these last days  has spoken  to us  in His Son,  whom He appointed heir  of all things,  through whom also  He made the world.

Jesus is this “Light”,  who shows us  eternal  “life”.     So,  we read His  “Word”  and let His “Light”  enlighten our hearts  and minds.     Do we  “comprehend” the  “Light”?     Seeing the overwhelming wonder  of God our Savior,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  Your love  and salvation  are from everlasting.”

Love,
Margaret
