The LORD  Sustains  All  Who Fall

It’s amazing  and most wonderful.     We don’t have  to try and save  ourselves.     Only the LORD God  through Jesus Christ can  and wants  to save us  from all our sins.     This has been true  since the beginning  of time.     And,  King David really appreciated  this eternal truth  about God’s love  and forgiveness  for us all.

Nobody knows us better  than the LORD.     David was so grateful  for that  that he wrote in Psalm 145:8-9,

The LORD  is gracious  and merciful;
Slow  to anger  and great  in lovingkindness.
The LORD  is good  to all,
And His mercies  are over  all His works.

We are but a very small part  of God’s  “works”  —  but,  He loves us dearly.     David was a part  of God’s  “works”,  so he could testify  in truth  what he wrote  in Psalm 145:14,

The LORD sustains all  who fall
And raises up all  who are bowed down.

David  was ashamed  at how he had sinned  against the LORD.     That is exactly  how we  should all be.     In his realization  of his weakness,  David also was grateful  and thankful  for the truth  about God,  that he testified to  in Psalm 145:19,

He will fulfill  the desire  of those  who fear Him;
He will also  hear their cry  and will save them.

The “desire  of those  who fear Him”  is not  for riches  and glory  for themselves.     Much rather,  it is for God’s grace  and mercy  to strengthen  and lead us  through  this veil  of tears  —  these times  of temptations  and stumbling.

So glad  that we have God’s almighty love  to sustain us,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for fulfilling  our greatest desire  and need  for Jesus’ sake.”

Love,
Margaret
