Savage Wolves  Will Come In  Among You

The time  from Christ’s resurrection  until Judgment Day  is called the end times.     So, we need to realize  that we are living  in the end times.     Jesus spokes  of the hardships  of those times,  and His followers  then shared  His teachings throughout their New Testament writings.

That is why Paul said  in Acts 20:27-30,

For I did not shrink  from declaring  to you  the whole purpose  of God.     Be on guard  for yourselves  and for all the flock,  among which  the Holy Spirit  has made you overseers,  to shepherd  the church  of God  which He purchased  with His own blood.     I know  that after my departure  savage wolves  will come in  among you,  not sparing the flock;  and from among your own selves  men will arise,  speaking perverse things,  to draw away  the disciples  after them.

Paul’s words  very much apply  to us today.     The “savage wolves”  amongst us  since Jesus’ resurrection  are all the false preachers  and teachers  in these New Testament times.     They seem to be  very successful  in drawing  “away the disciples  after them”.     People  who imagine  that they are following  the Christian faith  might actually be following  New Age teachings,  cults,  and false doctrines  of every sort.

That is why Paul calls false teachers  “savage wolves”.     They don’t care  one tiny bit  about our eternal salvation.     All they want is money  and the prideful feeling  of having authority  over the people  who follow them.

Paul preached  “the whole purpose  of God”  —  salvation through faith  in Christ Jesus alone.     We see  and understand  that grace  as we study God’s word.     To avoid  being savaged  by “savage wolves”  we need  to protect ourselves  by studying  God’s word  and believing it,  instead of man’s falsehoods.

Faithfully  being “on guard”  with God’s truths,  we rest  in God’s grace,  and say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for strengthening us  in Your truths.”

Love,
Margaret
