Why Do You Call Me?

Why Do You Call Me?

When we’re in deep, deep trouble,  we tend  to call  on God Almighty,  “Lord,  Lord”  as we acknowledge  that He actually is LORD  and God  over all things  —  even over us.

But,  in our every day,  ordinary lives,  we need  to answer Jesus’ question  in Luke 6:46,

Why do you call Me,  ‘Lord,  Lord,’  and do not do what I say?”

That’s a valid question we all need  to answer  and own up to.     Everybody wants our LORD  to answer  our ardent prayers  and tend  to our urgent needs.     But,  do we see Jesus  as our LORD  and God  only when it’s convenient?     Do we acknowledge Jesus  as our Lord  at all times?

Whatever anyone’s thoughts are now,  we all need  to consider what is true  for all eternity.     Describing  the victorious Lord Jesus,  Revelation 19:16 tells us,

And on His robe  and on His thigh  He has a name written,  “KING  OF KINGS  AND LORD  OF LORDS.”

We can’t do anything  to change that truth.     So,  how should we deal  with that truth  in our lives  for the rest  of our earthly life?

Glad  for the unchanging,  eternal truths  of our Creator Redeemer,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  let us ever see You  for who You are  —  and ourselves  for what we are  —  that our lives  may be lived  to Your eternal glory.”

Love,
Margaret
