Teach Me  to Do Your Will

King David’s  Psalm 143:10  asks,

Teach me  to do Your will,
For You are  my God;
Let Your  good Spirit  lead me  on level ground.

That’s a prayer  every single person  on this earth needs  to sincerely pray.     Because we live  in a world  of sin,  we are strongly influenced  by how others sin against us  —  how we can wrongfully desire things  that are not good  —  how we affect others  with our sinfulness  —  how sickness  and other maladies wreak havoc  in our lives,  etc.

The most important thing  we need  to learn to do  is to always turn  to God Almighty,  our Creator Redeemer,  for the help  we need  in doing  what is right  and good.     Altogether too often  God is our last resort  instead of our very first.

When we’re stumbling around  in all sorts  of poor choices,  we need  our Savior to  “lead me  on level ground”.     Only God can give us  the right footing  in this life.    That’s because  He is the only real LORD and God  —  the only one who created  and sustains  all things.     There is no other God  and we need His help.

Best of all,  our LORD wants us  to go to Him  for help.     That’s why  He calls Himself  our heavenly Father.

Glad that God wants us  to turn to Him  and do His will,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Thank You for wanting  to teach us  to do Your will.     Create in us  clean hearts  and a right spirit,  so that we will always want  to go  to You.”

Love,
Margaret
