Remember  His Precepts  to Do Them

As we think  about who we are  —  and who God Almighty is  in comparison,  we can think  about King David’s  Psalm 103:15-18,

As for man,  his days  are like grass;
As a flower  of the field,  so he flourishes.
When  the wind  has passed over it,  it is no more,
And its place acknowledges it  no longer.

But  the lovingkindness  of the LORD  is from everlasting  to everlasting  on those  who fear Him,
And His righteousness  to children’s children,
To those  who keep His covenant
And remember  His precepts  to do them.

Wow.     Just how often do we  remember  His precepts  to do them?     Don’t we much more often  get so absorbed  in our daily happenings,  that we kinda forget  about doing things  God’s way?

In the scope  of all things,  our lives  are short beyond imagination.     But,  God’s love  is  “everlasting”.     There is no end  to God’s love for  “those who fear Him”  —  that is,  for those who have respect  and reverence  for God  as the one and only  true God.

The only way we can have a true  “fear” of the LORD  is to  “remember  His precepts  to do them”.     God’s “precepts” are His commandments.     His #1 commandment is as Jesus quotes  in Mark 12:30,

You shall love the LORD your God  with all your heart,  and with all your soul,  and with all your mind,  and with all your strength.

That kind  of love  will bear  “the fruit  of the Spirit”,  which Galatians 5:22-23 describes as,

…love,  joy,  peace,  patience,  kindness,  goodness,  faithfulness,  gentleness,  self-control…….

Life is short.     Are we following  “His precepts”  and bearing  “the fruit  of the Spirit”?

We can only say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for loving us  with an everlasting love  that we may remember Your precepts  to do them.”

A Christian devotional  to glorify  the LORD of lords  and GOD of gods.

Pray for our country.

So the LORD  has compassion  on those who fear Him.

For His lovingkindness  is everlasting.

Psalm 107:1

Let the heart  of those who seek the LORD  be glad.
