Crucifixion of Christ

He Bore  Our Sins  in His Body  on the Cross

So many foo-foo  the value  and importance  of Christ’s suffering  and death  on the cross.     If Jesus  were any other  mere man,  they might have a valid point.     But,  all of scripture  repeatedly points  to the fact  that Jesus was no mere man.     Jesus was both God  and man  at the same time.     Absolutely no one can figure out how this can be,  but scripture points out that,

All things  are possible  with God.     Mark 10:27

and

For nothing  will be impossible  with God.       Luke 1:37

These truths are repeated throughout scripture.     As proven sinners,  we are  in no position  to refute scripture  that is thousands of years old  and has proven itself  to be true.     Because we can see many prophecies  about our Savior,  Jesus Christ,  and see how they were fulfilled,  we need  to understand  what 1 Peter 2:24 concluded,

He Himself  bore our sins  in His body  on the cross,  so that we might die  to sin  and live to righteousness;  for by His wounds you were healed.

It might feel uncomfortable  for one to think  of the reality  of Jesus suffering  so horrifically  —  just so we filthy sinners  could be totally forgiven  —  “healed” —  of all  our sinful past.     But,  that is  the eternal glory  of what God wants  to point us to.     Absolutely everyone  who believes that  “He Himself bore  our sins  in His body  on the cross  will be saved  for all eternity.     All the ways  in which we have been inflicted  by sin  will be  “healed”  through the shed blood  of Christ Jesus.     When the dying Jesus said  in John 19:30…….

It is finished!

……. the payment  for all our sins  was paid in full.

It’s time  to accept the gift  of God,  and say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  thank You  for paying  for all our sins  on the cross.”

Love,
Margaret
