If We Say That We Have No Sin

March 2, 2016

If We Say  That We Have  No Sin

When one strongly wants  to be top dog  in the eyes  of others,  they are terribly fearful  of others  seeing their weaknesses  and sins.     So,  they do their utmost  to hide  their sins  —  even denying outright  that they have  any sort  of sin  —  in their desire  to be top dog.

Their denial  puts them  in a very bad position  with God’s word  in 1 John 1:8,

If we say  that we have no sin,  we are deceiving ourselves  and the truth  is not  in us.

God exposes  every lie  and deception.     We might get away  with such a lie  with other people,  who are not aware  of our lifestyle  —  but we won’t get away  with anything  with God Almighty.     When we have tried  to deceive other people  with such a lie,  we are actually committing two sins.     1 John 1:10 says,

If we say  that we have not sinned,  we make Him  a liar  and  His word  is not in us.

So,  we may have fooled  other people  —  but,  we have called God Almighty  a liar  —  for Romans 3:23  and many similar references say,

For all  have sinned  and fall short  of the glory  of God.

To top that off  —  God’s word is definitely not  in such hearts.     Such people are lying.     Knowing all this,  they boldly continue claiming  their innocence  and righteousness.     But,  Revelation 21:8  declares,

But for the cowardly  and unbelieving  and abominable  and murderers  and immoral persons  and sorcerers  and idolaters  and all liars,  their part  will be  in the lake  that burns  with fire  and brimstone,  which is the second death.

Either  they don’t know this truth  —  or they don’t respect  this truth.     Either way,  all Christians need  to be aware  of these truths  —  and live according to them.

Ever so glad  that God lovingly forgives all  who confess  their sins  to Him,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for Your saving  and redeeming love.”

A Christian devotional  to glorify  the LORD of lords  and GOD of gods.

Pray for our country.
