So That  Your Hearts  Will Not Be  Weighted Down

There are so many things  that can weigh down  on our hearts.     We can be carrying  such heavy burdens  of sadness and depression  for so long  that we can’t even remember  when or why  we started feeling  weighed down.

We need  to know  —  and take to heart  —  Jesus’ words  about getting depressed  in these end times.     When Jesus spoke about the troublesome times  of the end days,  He said,  in Luke 21:33-35,

Heaven  and earth  will pass away,  but My words  will not pass away.     Be on guard,  so that  your hearts  will not be weighted down  with dissipation  and drunkenness  and the worries  of life,  and that day  will not come  on you  suddenly  like a trap;  for it will come  upon all those  who dwell  on the face  of all the earth.

Here is our great comfort  —  Jesus’   “words  will not pass away”.     In Jesus’  “words”  throughout the Bible  are many promises  of comfort,  strength,  and His nearness.     Whatever sort  of troubles  we need  to face  in these end days,  Jesus promises  to be with us  and guide us  with His  everlasting word.     Because His  “words  will not pass away”,   we can always  go to His words  in the Bible  to guide us  through  this life.

No matter  what is happening,  we can say  with King David  in Psalm 31:7,

I will rejoice  and be glad  in Your lovingkindness,
Because  You have seen  my affliction;
You have known  the troubles  of my soul.

God knows about  out troubles  better than we do,  so we can trust Him  to lead  and strengthen us.     Trusting  in Him,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for the assurance  in Your eternal word.”

Love,
Margaret
