He Has No Understanding

He Has  No Understanding

God knows absolutely all things  when dealing  with His people.     In Isaiah’s time,  the Israelites  went through the routines  of worship,  but it was all lip service.     They followed  the traditions  for worship,  but it was all  by rote.     Their hearts  were far  from God.     They had no real “understanding”  of God’s almighty greatness  or His love  for them.     Instead,  they lived  their secret lives  of sin  and imagined  that God didn’t know  what they were doing.

Through Isaiah,  God told them  they had everything  turned around.     Isaiah 29:16 says  to them,

You turn things around!
Shall the potter  be considered  as equal  with the clay,
That  what is made  would say  to its maker,  “He did not make me”;
Or  what is formed say  to him  who formed it,  “He has no understanding”?

People need  to think about this.     Should a mere clay vase  say  to its potter,  “You didn’t make me”?      A clay vase cannot make itself.     How dare a hunk  of molded clay say  to its maker,  “You don’t understand anything”?

But,  that is exactly  what many people say  to the LORD God Almighty.     They belligerently claim  God does not understand  their problems  or answer their prayers  the way they  want them answered.     Think of how many claim  to be atheists  these days.     Consider how many  go to church just as a mindless routine.

But,  God knows us inside  and out.     He made us.     Because He knows us  so intimately,  He knows  that we,  in our weaknesses,  must have a Savior  to pay  for all our sins.     God knows  how totally helpless  we all are  to pay for even one little sin.     We cannot  make ourselves sinless  and worthy  of heaven.     So,  we look  to the reality  of Ephesians 2:8,

By grace  you have been saved  through faith;  and that  not of yourselves,  it is the gift  of God.

We need  to humbly accept  God’s gift  of saving grace  and say,  “Hallelujah!      LORD,  thank You for understanding  the depths  of our needs,  and saving us through faith  in Christ Jesus.”

Love,
Margaret
