I Am the Door

I Am  the Door

Everybody wants  to get  into heaven  —  by hook  or by crook.     Many  feel  positively sure  that all religions  and faiths  lead to heaven  —  if one is good  and basically nice.     But,  that is not  what Jesus teaches us  throughout  John 10.     In John 10:7-9,  Jesus teaches,

Truly,  truly,  I say  to you,  I am the door  of the sheep.     All who came  before Me  are thieves  and robbers;  but the sheep did not hear them.     I am the door;  if anyone enters  through Me,  he shall be saved,  and shall go in  and out,  and find pasture.

There is no other way  to enter heaven,  but through faith  in Jesus Christ  —  the Door  to heaven.     When we honestly  put our whole faith  in Jesus,  the wooing  of other religions  —  whether it be mysticism,  New Age,  Hindu,  Buddhist,  transcendental meditation,  yoga,  or various ecumenical movements  —  will not move us away  from salvation  through faith  in Jesus alone.

From the beginning of time,  the teachers  of other religions  have been trying  to lead God’s children away  from the true faith.     But,  God’s children “hear” only the historically proven truths  of God’s word.     They freely  go  into the world  to do their jobs,  but are not suckered  into the sins  of this world,  the laws  and traditions  of legalistic teachers,  or the mysticism  of other religions.     Every day  they keep  the Savior  in their heart  and return to Him for strength  to meet every test  and trial  this world presents.

Jesus’ faithfulness  in caring for us  is a blessing  far beyond words  to describe.     May we always go  to the “Door” —  our Lord Jesus Christ.     Then we can gladly declare,  “Hallelujah!     Lord Jesus,  thank You  for keeping us safe.”

Love,
Margaret
