Anyone  Who Goes  Too Far

We live  in some  very trying times.     Some people  might foo-foo that  and say  that everything  is just fine.     But,  liberalism  of all sorts  and unbelief  are changing this world.     What was unacceptable  in Christianity 10-20-30 years ago  is now acceptable  because of the media available  to everyone.     Morals are changing.     Christian values  are changing.     Cults are more prevalent.     The values  of a strong democracy  are changing.     Entertainment values  are changing.     And,  the values  in education  are changing.

It kinda creeps up  on a person  as we are constantly badgered  about the “necessity”  of being politically correct,  in all aspects,  according to someone else’s definition  of political correctness.     New “rules”  are being made left and right.     One can’t even keep up  with all the new “rules”.

There were similar problems  in the New Testament days, also.     2 John 1:9-11 expresses  the faithful Christian’s stance  on this world’s unbelieving influences,

Anyone  who goes too far  and does not abide  in the teaching  of Christ,  does not have God;  the one who abides  in the teaching,  he has both the Father  and the Son.     If any one comes  to you  and does not bring  this teaching,  do not receive him  into your house,  and do not give him a greeting,  for the one who gives him a greeting  participates  in his evil deeds.

Worldly people,  trying to push  their worldly ideas  onto Christians  are not a Christian’s best buddy  or ideal friend.     Christians cannot afford  to deny God’s values  and allow the world  to lure them away  from God’s eternal truths.     We are not  to accept the ideals  of a cult,  of morally corrupt values,  of other religious practices,  or of unbelievers  of any sort.

Honoring our Creator Redeemer  is to be much more valued.

Resting  in the love  of God,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for opening our hearts  and minds  to Your eternal love  in Christ Jesus.”

Love,
Margaret
