O God,  Who Is  Like You?

In all  that stresses  a person  these days,  it is good  for us  to take a breather  and remember  how God Almighty  has carried us  through absolutely all  our troubles  since our birth.     The writer of Psalm 71 did just that.     Remembering all  of God’s loving care  over the years  quiets  our concerns  over the present.     It reminds us  of how very thankful  we need to be  —  and of God’s faithfulness  to the smallest detail  in our lives.

In Psalm 71:19-20,  the old writer said,

Your righteousness,  O God,  reaches  to the heavens,
You  who have done great things;
O God,  who  is like You?

You  who have shown me  many troubles  and distresses
Will revive me again,
And will bring me up again  from the depths  of the earth.

God is righteous  in everything  that He allows  in our lives.     Every little bit  of the life given  to each child  of God  is designed  to lead us  to a stronger  and closer relationship  to our LORD  and Redeemer.     Let us understand that  and peacefully  accept it  in faith.

We will all  undoubtedly  face  “many troubles  and distresses”  throughout  our lives.    As hard,  stressful, and terrible  as it all is,  we can be assured  that God  our Savior  “will revive me again”.      But,  much more than that,  when our life  has ended,  and we are buried,  He  “will bring me up again  from the depths  of the earth”.

All God’s faithful  will be physically resurrected  unto eternal life  to spend eternity intimately  with our Creator Redeemer.     “O God,  who is  like You?”     There simply is no other Lord,  God,  or mighty one  of any sort  that can change  God’s love,  will,  and authority  with His dear children.

Rejoicing  in God’s faithful love,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     LORD,  thank You  for righteously  being trustworthy  and faithful  in caring  for us.”

Love,
Margaret
