Sons  of God  Through Faith

God’s word  in the Bible  is very amazingly  specific.     That is why we are directed  to never twist God’s word  or take it out of context.     Important points are often repeated  in different books  of the Bible,  assuring us  of exactly  what God wants us  to know.     Although God’s meaning is very clear,  there are still many people  who take it out of context  and spread  their untruths  —  confusing many others.

One untruth  that is often spoken is that  we are all  “sons  of God”.     That might sound good  until we remember  that there is more  to the verses that speak  of the  “sons of God”.     For instance,  Galatians 3:26-29  clearly says,

For you are all sons  of God  through faith  in Christ Jesus.     For all  of you  who were baptized  into Christ  have clothed yourselves  with Christ.     There is neither Jew  nor Greek,  there is neither slave  nor free man,  there is neither male  nor female;  for you are all one  in Christ Jesus.     And  if you belong  to Christ,  then you are Abraham’s descendants,  heirs  according to promise.

The amazing privilege  of being the  “sons  of God”  belongs only  to those who have  “faith  in Christ Jesus”.     No matter what one’s ethnic background,  position,  gender,  or standing in this world,  it is only  faith  in Christ Jesus”  that elevates them  to be  “sons  of God”.     To declare their faith,  they were baptized.

When they were “clothed”  “with Christ” they were definitely committed  to living the way Christ taught us  to live  in faith.     That really sets apart  the “sons  of God”  from the rest  of the unbelieving world.

When we remember these descriptions of the  “sons  of God”,  we realize  that not everyone  in this world  can be called  a son  of God.     “Sons  of God”  have faith  in Christ  and lovingly strive  to live  as Jesus lived.     That is why we always pray  that God would graciously lead us  in living according to His eternal word  for Christ’s sake  —  and that He would not let us fall  into the temptations  of this world.

Praising God’s faithful love,  we say,  “Hallelujah!     Lord,  thank You  for Your grace  in Christ  our Savior.”

Love,
Margaret
